Jesselton was renamed as Kota Kinabalu. Sabah's capital region is named after Mount Kinabalu. The name can be understood and expressed in a variety of ways. From either Kinabalu, Nabalu, or Aki Nabalu. Yet, those who live near Mount Kinabalu used to be an unfamiliar name. Because for them Gayo Ngaran is used instead.
