I am glad I got the opportunity to try Darkroom Print although I am not a big fan of the chemical smell back then.
While cleaning up my photo prints and finding a huge folio bag, I didn’t open it for a long time.
I realize I have a lot of Darkroom prints I did back in 2008 and 2009.
Then I look thought back at my first Youtube account, I did post a video way back in Sept 2009 where I’m in the Uni’s Darkroom doing some prints.
While watching back the video, suddenly I can feel back all the senses. The sound of the water flow, the smell of the chemical and the safelight (red light). I did buy an enlarger back to Malaysia from Australia but too bad the component is somewhere around my bedroom. When I can’t get any chemical and photo paper around, that’s where the end game of Darkroom for me.
Here are the scanned darkroom print :
Silhouette of me Self Portrait Self Portrait Eric somewhere near Fed Square Victoria Library TLRs Pup Shadow of Passerby Victorian Police Somewhere in Victoria enroute to Penguin Island
All Photo paper developed with Ilford Satin Photo Paper, one of the lowest grade (cheapest one available).
You can see a lot of small dark spot because it’s been a while all the photo kept warm inside my huge folio bag that I didn’t open for a very long time.
Do you have the opportunity to Darkroom Print? Would love to hear your stories too.
