2 Nights in Charming town of Alor Setar

2 weeks after I lost my job as a full time employee for a Start-Up Company.

I decide to travel all the way North of Malaya to explore around. A junior of mine whom I met in Australia during my higher education study who are living in Alor Setar volunteer to bring me around for 2 days.

Thank you very much Pau! Portrait of her at Kampung Kodiang.

Hi Pau!

Alor Setar is the capital city of Kedah. Just an hour drive up North and you’ll arrive Thailand. I see a few Thai’s Car Plate Number parking all over Alor Setar and I guess it’s a norm for them.

And the Food palate on the Northern side is tastefully good. I thought Nasi Kandar Pelita in KL is one of the best Nasi Kandar I ever had until Pau told me this is her common dinner before on the way back home.

Why not? I give it a try. I was so full that time, if I still can have another round of Nasi Kandar. I’ll definitely have 1 more.

Southern Thai Food is common meal in Northern Malaysia

The Town itself is very small and relax. As Photographer who love to explore around the city. I woke up once the sun rises and started to walk around for about 2 and half hours.

Also had the chance to visit Bukit Kodiang, I think I saw somewhere on facebook and really wanted to visit because of the wide plain paddy field and suddenly there’s an unique hill out of nowhere in the middle.

Bukit Kodiang and White Paddy FIeld, magnificent view.
Me and Pau

While driving back to Alor Setar, the sky suddenly clear with a beautiful scene of Sunset.

I am glad I did this short trip.
It’s a trip for me to explore and know more the other side of Malaysia.

As Malaysian Borneon who are born and bred in West Coast of Sabah. I know Sabah has a lot of beautiful landscape and has more things to offer but it is important to travel outside of the state and go to other state where we don’t share the same history and culture.

I will be moving back and forth between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu starting from October onwards and I guess, maybe I need to travel 2 or 3 more places in Peninsular side before flying back to Kota Kinabalu and focus on Hinava Media, a Digital TV Media Company I establish early this year.

Will you visit Alor Setar out of the blue like me?
Have a Good day and Stay Safe everyone!
