What’s on your bookshelves?

By Flanegan

I believe everyone have a bookshelves, it not pun~~ They have a few book collection which they love to keep it for reference in the future. Cupboard for your book pun kira lar.

Do you have Bookshelves?

I do have Bookshelves.. 2 in my room but here I’ll only show the important section to share with you boys and girls.
Picture below :

That’s how my Important section Bookshelves looks like.. Lots of Arts and Photography related books and also I keep my file and folder on the left side, lots of important document, films and useful piece of paper I got it from my lecturer or internet. I prefer read it like that because holding it with your palm does give me more motivation than reading it on computer screen.

And also, I got this habit if I go someone’s house.. If I saw a Tiny or Huge Bookshelves at the living room, I always ask the ‘tuan rumah’ Can I go and have a look what kind of book they collects. ekekeke
So tuan-tuan and puan-puan sekalian~~
What’s on your Bookshelves?

And here’s my random Video Clip about How to Develop your Black and White Film :

My voice so annoying here.. Bcos I try to increase my video speed.. haha

Bah! Happy Thursday

Hitam Putih / Black and White / 黑白

By Flanegan

I always fascinate with the world of black and white… It change the entire perspective/view allot just because of the zone system instead of language of colors.

Instead of piling my film and develop later… I decide to develop some of it since I already mix the chemical.
Just afraid that the chemical “keluar angin”.. If keluar angin I cannot use it to develop and I have to get freakin new one.

rimg0301s
400 T-Max is my best friend.

Still waiting for Lucky 100 Film thou. I wonder when it will arrive.. hopefully this friday *cross finger*.

Image below is the stuff you need for developing a roll of film. But my tank developer can fit 2 35mm films.
The bottle on the upper left is the 3 main chemical you need to develop one by one.
Developer (depends what kind of film how many minutes you need to agitate) – Stop Bath (is to stop the chemical developing after you finish agitate with the Developer, I hate Stop bath because of the smell!).
The last one is Fixer (agitate at least 3-5mins so that the film chemical will remove the unexposed from the silver plates).

Stuffs

Another important things you need to have is Scissors and Thermometer.

rimg0309s
Thermometer to check the chemical temperature.

You need to keep the temperature consistent around 19-21 degree celcius all the time.

After ready everything in 1 room.. I organize the tank developer infront of me before I switch off the light.

Tank Developer

And I use the can opener to open my film (in the darkness).

rimg0311s
That’s how I open it.. (In total darkness, the image above is just a demo).

Don’t forget to wear gloves before you start developing with the chemicals.

rimg0315s
For your safety.

Last time one of the chemical got into my eyes during the agitating process. The next day I got Red Eye for 2 months, so please don’t be Rambo lar ahh!! haha

After everything done in 15-30mins. I can open the Tank Developer and cleanse with pure water for 15mins before take it out.

rimg0313s
After The develop.

After finish cleaning the film with water, you can use smooth sponge to wipe all the remaining water on the film and hang it to dry for 1 hour+.

rimg0314s
The Developed film and Sponge Bob. haha

After everything done.. The last step is to hang it on the dry and humid place before you can cut the film and arrange in 1 file folder.

My friend ask me will I continue shooting black and white film back home after graduation.
My answer is definately Yes….

Thanks to the Internet technology.. I can buy Lucky 100 or T-Max 400 and also the chemical on the webbie.

I might open a small studio thou and maybe a small classes for those who interested in general photography beside the photo shoot and camera part.
Am willing to share the culture and the history *ok i sounds like Hippie*.. If my plan is work out when I get back after graduation.

So guys.. What do ya think?

Steve McCurry : Arts and Minds

By Flanegan

Here’s a short Documentary Video about Steve McCurry where he talks about photography.

Steve McCurry

Don’t you like how the way he hold the camera… I guess he hold like that because if he shoot in a long exposure maybe 1/10 it will give him a lil bit grip of the camera.

Enjoy!!
