the 70′s Daido Moriyama

By Flanegan

In Japan, you still can get all the old asahi camera, nippon camera magazine back in 20-30years ago in a used bookstore. Tokyo Style Camera’s John Sypal found this book 1974 April Issue of Asahi Camera. I always wonder how Daido Moriyama dress back those days, cos now I kept on see his portrait of wearing everything in Black.

Even the photo + filmstrip border itself of the photo look so cool! The saturation makes it look so funky… The shirt so contrast!! haha

Damn!!!!

My Journey / 僕の旅 (First Photozine Book)

By Flanegan

Since I got my first payroll last month. Well, I only received half of it actually & still waiting for another half-payment until now since last month. I hate working with people who pays half only and then no update or news from them. This is not my first time, 3rd time I think. I still remember my first pay assignment job, I only receive quarter of the payment amount until now.

Money is Evil Indeed… Why can’t we live freely like how our ancestor used to be? Just laid back and tanam sawah padi? damn~~

Anyway, this Blog post is about my first Independent Photozine or Photography Book that I used my own earn hardcash money to print it.
Basically, the amount of this book cost 60% of my half paid roll. Which means, I’m broke already now. HAHA
But hey, I’m happy with it. I decide to send this book to some of the Art Gallery I’m eyeing with my cover letter and resume. I know I already got a job, I’m gonna talk about it soon here for you guys to imagine in a few days.

Okay, Let’s talk about my Photozine. It’s my first collection of Photozine. Independent Photography book printed in Sabah.
Not in a proper ‘photo’ printing way but it’s enough to show my photo in a traditional way instead of looking your image in a pixelated LCD Monitor screen. =_=”

Lemme Present you :

My Journey / 僕の旅

I decide to call it My Journey or 僕の旅 in Japanese (boku no tabi) because It’s not a conceptual or series of image.
Most of the photo in this book is part of My Journey where I started to further my study Photography in Australia in 2007 until now 2010 where I manage to find a full-time Job as a Photojournalist.
It’s just a first episode of my photozine, and in the future I’m gonna compile and check my archive again to do 2nd episode, maybe I’ll use the title back to My Journey or maybe not. will see~~

15 copies only. Limited bebeh!

Total is 40 pages on Art Paper with Laser Jet Printer.

I’m gonna send it to some of Art Gallery first, If I do have another extra book.
If for those who are interested to purchase it please do not hesitate to leave a comment or can email me via sendto[at]flaneganb.net . If you do have my mobile phone no, just leave me a txt message lar.

I guess that’s all and oh ya. I got freebies from Kazakhstan girls during Folklore Festival Farewell party at Zoo Lokkawi yesterday for an assignment.

Kazakhstan Flag.

I’ve been searching for their flag for quite sometimes and finally I got myself 1 by them! Blue color I like~~
And Kazakh Girls are very cute and pretty too. I can fall for them anytime. Suka brabis their features, really represent 1 world. HAHA

Group Photos of the Kazakh Girls.

Haiya, too bad the Super Cute Girl is not in there. I do hope they come again next year.
Macam mau lose weight and learn a few Kazakh Language Phrases Pula so that Next Time I can communicate with them more easily.
Most of them can’t speak English, Even they do have a translator… Seems like the Translator herself also Lost in Translation.
I still remember I ask one of them “How long will you be here after the competition?”, The girl reply “I love Malaysian Food!”

ermmmm….. I don’t know how to reply after that. The atmosphere do change a lil bit if u know what I mean.
Even myself kena Lost in Translation. Rakhmet for the Kazakhstan Flag.

Bah.. So if anyone who are interested with my Photozine. Lemme know lar
That’s all from me.
