Starting 1st January 2009, I will start my 2 series of Documentary Portrait in KK before i head back to Melbourne to complete my final year.

I need everyone help lar, I just want a normal soul-less stand up portrait in various background for one of my series.

Anyway my Portrait No 1 is about :

Anima

Definition : (Jungian psychology) the inner self (not the external persona) that is in touch with the unconscious.

Looking for all kind of People. You don’t need to be model, this is ain’t fashion or product commercial shoots. It’s part of my Portraiture Project. 20 to 30 Portrait shots with variety background. I’ll be shooting this with my DSLR and also Medium Format Camera.

It’s a simple conceptual portrait that makes people’s mind out of curiosity. All you need is to stand in front of the camera unconcious. I’ll take 5 - 6 shots and walla! done.
p/s : but setup it took like maybe 20mins to get the right composition and lighting.

Portraiture No.2 :

Inspiration from Nolita Fairytale MV.

I’ve been seeing Vanessa Carlton’s Nolita Fairytale MV for quite a while. The video direction really hook me up till now. The fairytale, the warm color, the simple elegant dress, the appearance and Digital Imaging Montage makes me want to do something like Nolita Fairytale. Maybe I call it KK Fairytale?

As for this series, I’m not sure i can complete in KK or not. It took time to pre-planned everything, scout location and also looking for the right model (ini memang ada satu suda).

Anyway, I’m looking for model who have long hair (straight or curly, during the shoots i’ll hire a hairdresser to curl your hair). If the model who have a nice clothes in her wardrobe that’s a ++PLUS.

And 1 Guy, black hair medium length. Basically in the shoots you just holding an umbrella with wings behind ya.

And also I need an Assistant (1 or 2 to hold the lights and 1 who really good in Digital Imaging [kalo teda orang saya buat sendiri lar]).

This series will mostly shoot on DSLR.

My friend called me and ask me do i have time to do a few fashion show shoots for his cousin on sunday. Since I don’t want to spend my time allot at home, I said yes to my friend and i went there meet a few bunch new friends. You know la this fashion world kan, you can meet berbagai jenis punya human being.

From models, to famous australian fashion designer to fashion enthusiast, to big fan of Josua Andreas and etc etc..

So here’s the 10 series of image shows hows the fashion show looks like

Actually I don’t know anything about Melbourne Fashion Scene. But after my friends intro me to his cousin, It seems like he already get into this business for 7 years. He even ever have a fashion show at the USA.

The Dressing room. Where Make up artists, hair dresser and models gather around.

The atmosphere inside really reminds me of those fashion runway documentary you watch on TV or youtube. The model wait for their turn to get their make-up, some of them mingle each other and also some of them just sit on the couch waiting.

Most treasure items of em all. So that the dress looks neat and proper present later during the fashion show.

Oh ya, The Fashion Designer is an Indonesian based in Melbourne, Australia. He have his own clothing shop located at Melbourne Central (just beside my apartment). Do check his funky, retro and urban style if you want to buy some clothes there.

Touch Up face.. Not photoshop touch up.

After all the make up and the clothes done. The show starts with very inspiration music like you always watch on tv.

Not those typical Runway. It’s inside the bar’s function room.

I hate the lighting condition on that day because it keeps on changing the shutter speed.

If you all wander why there’s lots of Asian in Melbourne. I can give you the answer now. Basically, Melbourne City is like the Asians City in Australia. You see all kind of Asians everywhere with different kind of english slang too. Yup, That’s Melbourne. It’s not an ideal place for y’all to trip jadi orang putih. WAKAKAKAKAKAKAKA

After 15mins of fashion show (wait or more than that?). Everyone continue their drinking session, while me. I head off to the beach for a while and then head back to the city and have a nice char siew pao i bought from grocers store.
