the 70′s Daido Moriyama

By Flanegan

In Japan, you still can get all the old asahi camera, nippon camera magazine back in 20-30years ago in a used bookstore. Tokyo Style Camera’s John Sypal found this book 1974 April Issue of Asahi Camera. I always wonder how Daido Moriyama dress back those days, cos now I kept on see his portrait of wearing everything in Black.

Daido Moriyama 1974 Canon F-1 Ads on Asahi Camera.

Even the photo + filmstrip border itself of the photo look so cool! The saturation makes it look so funky… The shirt so contrast!! haha

Damn!!!!

Instead of doing nothing bcos no one want’s my service, because no one know who the heck am I?

I decide to contribute something to all the orang KK thru my knowledge of Photography what I’ve learn back in Australia and meeting a few photographers around the world, who share their ideas and how they seeing stuff..
Under the name of Borneo Shutter, I have decides to have a Independent Open Photo Exhibition in KK. For the first time!! or for the first time since british colonial. LOL

I want to show some love thru what I love, what I see and doing something with it.

If you’re interested to be one!

Description :
Guerilla Exhibition is an independent street exhibition.
Where all artists and photographers around KK or even Sabah will meet in 1 place and share something similar.

Why? :
Come on! Don’t stick with same people and same group all the time. Open your mind, look at others work. Aren’t you sick and tired looking at the same picture over and over again.
This is the great way for you to show your ‘photograph’ in KK for the first time.

Because :
Photograph have 1 purpose is to be seen for everyone not to create group and hate others photography group. Let’s screw that kind of mentality!

What to show? :
The title for this Guerilla Exhibition is Street. Anything that related with street~~ It’s an open concept! Black & White and Colors are acceptable.

Where to Submit? :
Since it’s an open exhibition, I encourage you all to pick your best 10 photos and send it to BorneoShutter@gmail.com. Maximum size for each picture is 1200px, I’ll choose 2 or 3 image from there for you guys to print.

Free or Not? :
The Exhibition is an independent Street Exhibition. We don’t have financial support and also non-budget organization.
Which means you have to print your own image or send it to photo labs for printing. I encourage to print in Matte Photo paper or not so glossy surface. Photo Lab that have Fuji FDI system are recommended since they are one and only best photo labs print in the world so far. And again, Unless you have your own Photo Printer.

What to do with my photograph, after which image got choose? :
Size Photo recommended A4 or 8×10 stick on 12×12 Black Mounting Board (or Cardboard) where you can get it at any Stationary stores.

Image Below about the Mount :

Is it Open to everyone beside Sabahans? :
Yes! It’s Open to everyone around Borneo (Sarawak, Brunei and Kalimantan) and also the world are encourage to submit their work too! I love to see other street scene around Borneo especially.
