By Flanegan

p/s : THE INTERNET CONNECTION IS UTTERLY SLOW HERE!!

War Photographer is the 2001 Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary Feature that follows preeminent war photographer James Nachtwey for two years as he bravely documents the harrowing realities of Kosovo, Rawanda, Indonesia, and the West Bank.

I watch this piece of Documentary last year when i loan it from my Uni’s Library. It does really open my mind hows a War Photographer work in a real-life situation where bullets just flying around you just a few feet away.

Everyone cannot be there or don’t want to be there. That’s why the Photographers go there, to show them to reach out and grab em and make them stop what they’re doin…. – James Nacthwey

Here’s one of the Scene where he talks about on photography’s importance and responsiblity to Humanity.

guess what. today I went to the UMS-KAL for the Iron Men and Iron Women challenge.

I tried to only use 18 and 28mm because I was inspired by the video and the quote mentioned in my earlier comment..

Frankly speaking, it takes too much fast-thinking for composition and exposure. But sure it is really an eye opening to see the result from the new point of view (wide angle!).

Thanks again.

haha If you watch the full documentary.. He either use Av mode with spot meter. In Photojournalism, you don’t have time to use manual exposure (except shooting landscape). Bracket are create to get 3 exposure so that you can choose one of them which one are the right photo to presents.

You need lotsa guts to shoot a close up portrait too!! You have to give a good reason if they asking you why.. hahaha

Yeah, if you see someone with interesting features or expression don’t think about the composition wise. Straight away shoot it from above your waist. Shoot as many picture as you can before he/she ran away from you. haha
