TS-M 24mm F3.5
By Flanegan
Today, I had a chance to hold Canon’s TS-M (Tilt & Shift Manual) 24mm F3.5/L lens for a while.
The lens doesn’t belongs to any of my classmate. My housemate borrowed it from the Uni Photography Department Store for the weekend.

Canon TS-M 24mm F3.5/L
I knew a few photographer who used this lens just for shooting Portraiture. One of them are my Graduate Senior Hayden Golder, He also recently got selected as a Finalist in one of main photography competition held in Australia. Click here to visit his portraiture section portfolio.
What kind of result you can get from Tilt and Shift lens?

You’ll get blurish effects on the left and right of your image.

Even got something closer on the right you’ll still can see the blur effect on the left and right.

Even more obvious if the distance got a lil bit further than the object. Look at the left wall..

Can shoot a lil bit close up. That’s the advantage of using this lens.
Actually this lens are made for photographer who are specialize in Architecture, landscape and also interior photography. With the tilt and shift system (like in the large format camera).
You can adjust the line vertical and horizontally straight without wasting any pixels if you crop it using lens correction on photoshop.
I don’t think i need this kind of lenses now. But it’s fun to use it especially when you’re really into location photography or portraiture in a different way.
5D Mark 2 finally announce. Quite an irritating DSLR for me honestly because i can see that kind of particular camera can really destroy the meaning of photography.
Can you imagine someone bought this kind of camera just for PnS??
WTF rite?
I know it’s time for me to upgrade to a full frame camera. My 350D still remains with me if i get a new one because i’m gonna name my 350D ‘The Legend’.
I still love films… ![]()
