Melbourne Fiesta Malaysia.
By Flanegan
Fiesta Malaysia was held at Federation Square on the 31st August in conjunction with National Day.
Generally, Nothing much happen. More like introducing more into the ‘culture’ and also a place for M’sian Student and Expatriate wandering around and showing off their “DSLR”. Don’t worry, I didnt bring my DSLR there because i know there’s gonna be heaps of DSLR. Bah, besakan Malaysia.. DSLR atas, bawah, kiri and kanan.
I brought my RZ67 and SX-70 and shoot a few photo from it.
And again, Nothing much happen.. Paling senang mo tau macam mana jalan ceritanya.
Tgk gambarnya sejalar..
Photos from Polaroid SX-70 :

Sepak Takraw, 2 white guy join after this and they cracks me up because they juggle better than from the ‘where originally sepak takraw came from” if you know what i mean?
On the other side pula like more into traditional i used to call umban barang capat pungut back in Keningau when i was young. Ko umban itu guli/batu or whatever tinggi-tinggi then ko mesti capat-capat pungut itu remaining guli/batu or whatever on the floor. What they call ah?

Aik, tengok pula si Minah sama camera saya. I don’t think she’s looking at the camera thou. I think when i press the shutter her eyes straight away got freeze by the chemical of so called “Instant Polaroid 600film”.
The main stage, with false info for the east malaysian.

Welcome to Fiesta Malaysia in blah blah M’sia`s 51 years of Independence. Macam betul tapi inda betul bah kan. Mo tipu pun susah sebab urang putih ni cepat betul dorang percaya.
Tinggi-tinggi saya lumpat-lumpat

Ngam also lar kasi penat sikit because that time the weather sejuk babas too the max.
Photos from Mamiya Rz67 :
taken with Kodak Portra ISO400.
This time lelaki punya turn

Punya main serious dia main.
Like usual,

Checkin out on girls… Doi~~
Film separuh shoot separuh kena potong time develope,

Bollywood Dance..

Some Unknown Malaysian Singer singing RnB song with his lyrics sheet on the stage. Too detail pula i explain.
Umban barang capat pungut..

I think they just wanna chill out. Haha
And lastly, back in primary school very oh-so Famous

Lumpat Getah. I don’t know whats the proper name but i always cakap Lumpat Getah most of my friend understand what i mean.
What makes me dissapointed about the event is Instead of Promoting the Sarawak’s Iban, Melanau and Bidayuh Dance they write down as East Malaysian Dance on the screen. Oh Come on!! Just Introduce it in proper way bah. Cannot blame also lar because most of the Sabahan Native Generation got colonize by western californication and japanese culture suda. Most of them even don’t know how to dance Sumazau and also listen to the Native Speaker Music.
Well, that’s the future… KadazanDusun Language gonna extinct sooner or later wat is remain the name and also the tradition and costume.
Haishhhhh…….. I wish my father teach me my mother tongue language when i was young. The only words i know is Gunsirit. Because It’s happen to me all the time. Taik mo keluar suda ni.. Tu lah i know what the meaning is Gunsirit.
-peace bebeh and one love-

Apologies for not introducing the East Malaysian dance properly onscreen. It was my fault, and it wasn’t till closer to the day where the types of dances were explained to me, but I thought it was sufficient for the emcees to introduce the types of dances, which is what they did the first time round.
Apologies once again on my behalf.
