What did i do on the 1st weekend of 2009. Not bad lar, very productive day…
Let the photo tell the stories from 6am till 12am, after that i’m totally Knocked out with my lights bedroom on.

Woke up early morning.. Waiting for Edgar come to my place and then in 1 car we head to Jefferi’s Territory.
After waiting for him 5mins.. I drive all the way to

Tamparuli………. for the first time.

I went there for my Anima Portrait shots. Joan and her sis volunteered to become soul-less for 5 mins.
Once again, thanks to them.
Nanti saya hantar to gambar.. My laptop is a mess now, load my cs4 always not responding.

That’s me.. Edgar is the flash man. Pics courtesy from Jefferi without his permission. Sorry Jeff!!

After the shoot, lepak and have breakfast somewhere there.

We talk and discuss nonstop until we forgot the time.

I think we head back to KK around 1pm. Since 3 of us are ex-La Sallian.
We decide to stop by there and refresh our mind.
It bring back lots of memories indeed, especially Senior Block.

smlss
Junior Block change allot!!

_mg_0387s
Senior block remains the same but too much propaganda. Feels like Im in the Nazi’s Territory bah.

Once a La Sallian, Always a La Sallian.

After visits our ex-High School head to Jeff’s Territory minum2 and we saw Papa Joneh with his family.

In the evening, Edgar hang out at my place for a while. Later that, he decide to bring Ki-Chan to Citymall for Hainanese Chicken Chop.

After Hainanese Chicken Chop. Edgar found out that the whole CSP geng playing Left 4 Dead at Citymall’s Arena.
So we join them and create a team name that have GG infront or back of our name. hahahaha

Left 4 Dead
Left 4 Dead Infectorzzzzzz…

Basically you can hear everyones shout “TANKER!!” or “SMOKER!!!” or “HUNTER!!” or “^@&(&@*#(&@!! TOLONG UI!!” when someone play Left 4 Dead because the game is so exciting and makes you wanna shout lar.

Basically, That’s how i spent my 1st weekend of 2009.

So if anyone are interested to volunteer themself for my Anime Portrait.

receive an email from the Chief of Editor. I guess most of the JPG subscriber will receive her email too.

Today is a particularly sad day for all of us at JPG and 8020 Media.

We’ve spent the last few months trying to make the business behind JPG sustain itself, and we’ve reached the end of the line. We all deeply believe in everything JPG represents, but we just weren’t able to raise the money needed to keep JPG alive in these extraordinary economic times. We sought out buyers, spoke with numerous potential investors, and pitched several last-ditch creative efforts, all without success. As a result, jpgmag.com will shut down on Monday, January 5, 2009.

The one thing we’ve been the most proud of: your amazing talent. We feel honored and humbled to have been able to share jpgmag.com with such a dynamic, warm, and wonderful community of nearly 200,000 photographers. The photography on the website and in the magazine was adored by many, leaving no doubt that this community created work of the highest caliber. The kindness, generosity, and support shared among members made it a community in the truest sense of the word, and one that we have loved being a part of for these past two years.

We wish we could have found a way to leave the site running for the benefit of the amazing folks who have made JPG what it is, and we have spent sleepless nights trying to figure something out, all to no avail. Some things you may want to do before the site closes:

- Download the PDFs of back issues, outtakes, and photo challenge selections. We’ll always have the memories!  www.jpgmag.com/downloads/archives.html
- Make note of your favorite photographers. You may want to flip through your favorites list and jot down names and URLs of some of the people you’d like to stay in touch with. You may even want to cut and paste your contacts page into a personal record.
- Catch up with your fellow members. Our roots are in this humble flickr forum and we recommend going back to find fellow members, discuss the situation, or participate in another great photo community. www.flickr.com/groups/jpgmag/
- Keep in touch. This has always been much more than just a job to each of us, and we’ll miss you guys! We’ll be checking the account jpgletters@gmail.com in our free time going forward. We can’t promise to reply to every email (since we’ll be busy tuning up our resumes) but we’d love to hear from you.
- Stay posted. Although the magazine is ceasing publication, we’ll be updating you on what’s happening with your subscription early next week.

We’re soggy-eyed messes, but it is what it is. At that, JPGers, we bid you goodbye, and good luck in 2009 and the future.

Editor in Chief

I’ve meet heaps of people there.. Well, what can you do kan?

I would like to give a big thanks to JPGMAG.com because one of my photo got published on Issue 9 under Elegant Theme.
I still remember i just start my photography course in Melbourne when i found out that my photo got voted, review by the editor and got published.

Without them my website won’t get lots of visitors. *but now turun lagi sbab malas mo promote sendiri*.

After JPGMAG.com, a week later i receive an email from Switzerland that the same photo from JPGMAG got exhibits in Love Museum in Switzerland too for 3 months!!

Ahhh… what a memorable day for me.

Konnichiwa, Boku no namae wa Kuro Toro desu. Canon gara utsukuru.
Hello, My name is Black Totoro, made from Canon.

Nihon de umare desu.
Born in Japan.

3nisen wa hikouki de touchiakusuru Kota Kinabalu desu.
I arrived Kota Kinabalu 3 days ago.

Ima-kara, kono Collage of Life to Flaneganb.net no mi desu.
From now on, I’ll be the eyes of Collage of Life’s Flaneganb.net.

Dozo Yoroshiku Onegai-shimasu.
Please treat me well.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Kuro Toro a.k.a Black Totoro.

What Can I say about 5D Mark 2. I can say this camera is one of those camera will change the world of Digital Photography and also maybe world of DSLR. I call it the Ultimate Dynamite Camera (random one). I can’t compare my 350D with 5D Mark2 because 350D will still be my baby. All my requirement goes to 5DMII.

Although is not a complete set for me cos i need to get myself an extra battery, a battery grip and also cable release for KuroToro.

21megapixels DSLR equivalent to :
- 5616 x 3744 resolution
- 18.72 x 12.48inch
- 47.55 x 31.70cm

Size of A2 paper, If you know how to upscale smoothly to A1 pun boleh with borders.

ISO wise. 100 times better than my 350D, I don’t need to think about noise anymore cos i can pump up the iso too 3200. ISO6400 is still acceptable equivalent to 350D’s ISO800.
The Highest ISO for 5DMII is ISO25600 or known as H2 in the camera. Itu memang rusak lar, the noise almost looks like 350D’s ISO1600.

About the sensor….. 5DMII is full frame. The 350D pula Frame Separuh only.

You can see the differents here. (kamu tau suda bah kan but still i want to show.

_mg_9895
This is Canon EOS 350D Half Frame Sensor on 17-40mm F4 Lens.

and

_mg_0001
This is Canon EOS 5D Mark II Full Frame Sensor on 17-40mm F4 Lens.

What a Huge Different.

Dial Function have 5 extra dial beside the M, Av, Tv, Auto & P.
3 Customize Function (C1, C2 and C3), 1 Creative Auto (or known as CA) and Bulb Function.

The Customize Function really makes my finger easier because you can save the setting for future use, for example :
C1 : I want ISO800 for shooting indoor with less light, Activate Lighting Optimizer.
C2 : ISO100 and Bracketing for shooting HDR.
C3 : ISO200, set the Shutter speed and aperture to 1/60 at F5.6 and also set my flash guns to ETTL +1 brightness.

You get what i mean? So when i want to shoot HDR scene i just dial it to C2. Everything kao-tim in less than 1 secs.

Awesome thing about this DSLR is you can record a HD Video or just a normal video size with all kind of EF lenses.

10secs Test video on HD Mode.

The size of 10 secs HD is around 45mb. So if you have 1gb, 2gb and 4gb CF card. It will only last like 6mins in 2gb CF card.
That’s mean i have to get bigger than that lar. Ngai tiao betul.

The Dynamic Range in 5DMII is quite wide than my 350D, that’s mean i have to change my editting habit a lil bit because of the Dynamic Range. But no worries, everything is gonna be alrite.

And last one, before i stop talking crap again.

5DMII will help you to reduce the vignette of your image in the camera because they have the function called ‘Peripheral Illumination Correction’.
Just switch it on, you’ll see less vignette on the edge of your camera.
Well for me, I’ll switch it off because i love baby vignette.

Alrighty, that’s all about my crappy review for the first time.

Before i want to press the Publish button.
Let me upload a few pics i’ve taken with my 5DMII.

The Title for this Photo Series is Familiar Places :

_mg_0227

_mg_0218

Alright, That’s all from me.
Have a wonderful day & Happy New Year 2009.
